Now is the Time to Grow Your Business

In treatment, business, and comments on Facebook, I try to keep things as simple as possible. So let’s get a few things straight.
Everyone has the same amount of time
Sure, people have kids, care for parents or work another job, but time is constant and the same for everyone.
It is how you prioritise your time that makes the difference.
You cannot complain about the slow growth of your business if you do not spend time on your business.
If you are happy about the growth of your business, and not worried about the next few months then stop reading now. Otherwise keep reading because I have 2 excellent tools that I use to plan out the next 3 months.
Look, I always agree that family and friends are more important and often will be top priority when it comes to using your time.
But let’s get serious.
You probably have been ‘granted’ a heap of time due to cancellations because of ‘the virus’.
Now Let’s Clear the Air
I am a ‘masseur’ (just to annoy you), and an Exercise Physiologist. But the majority of my work is still massage.
I have a business coach, but it’s not one that advertises themselves to massage business owners in various Facebook groups.
I also worked for my mentor for over 10 years and had another mentor during that time. You may know them: Derek Zorzit and Alan Ford. (If not, check out massage therapy’s most famous bromance below.)
I’m still trying to grasp the notion of working ON your business, not IN your business, and of course, this comes back to time, and how you prioritise time, as we discussed earlier.
In our business group we have a saying: ‘to know and not to do is not to know’.
I’m the soul meat and vege winner for the family (try to avoid carbs). My wife Katherine has a bad back and chronic pain, so she has not worked for over 15 years. We adopted our daughter at the age of 5, after fostering her from 7 days old. We have had a number of other foster babies over the years to which we have passed onto Kin.
Due to our family situation, I have no choice but to have a robust business that allows for growth as well as family time.
I started working with Jason Pilgrim from ‘The Profitable Practice’ in May 2018. On 1 July 2019, I opened a standalone clinic of 73m2.
I have a company but still do 97% of the work, with an admin team member doing 3 hours/week and a contract EP who fills in when I’m away.
So, essentially, like many of you, I am a sole trader, but with some growth that needs to be addressed.
Show Me the Data
I’m going to show you the growth in my business over the past few years, although it’s scary sharing data about my business.
I know many of you have revenue amounts much greater than me, and many of you with revenue much less.
It’s not about the amount of money that I’m showing you, it is about the planning and systems behind that growth.

The second tool I want to share with you is an Excel spreadsheet to plan out your weekly content distribution.
I grabbed this spreadsheet from Sunny Lenarduzzi, who has a great YouTube channel, and some fantastic videos on how to share your content on social media. She also has a video on how to use the spreadsheet on her Youtube channel.
I like to print both these tools and stick them on my wall next to my desk.
